Google Freak....

Mom tends to be a google freak.......but also an informative freak....so here is the next bit of blog info...............None of these informative blogs are about distribution or product placement, it is all a matter of opinion.

I think it is safe to say that most Pugs are notoriously known for "gulping" down their food.  It's just what we do.  If you are one lone pug or one of many, "gulping" is just a way of life.  Unbeknown to us, this isn't good.  Our squished face isn't designed for gulping.  From what mom has read, that means we inhale a lot of air as we eat, and sometimes drink.  If you hear us coughing right after eat, we have indeed gulped.

The following is only a suggestion...............for any concerned parent........because, as pugs............do we ever looked concerned?!?!?!?!

If you Google (or Bing, or whatever your chosen search engine might be)

"SLOW FEED BOWL"

you may get images such as these:

And a few more not shown above:

Interactive feed bowl

Now, I have to admit.........us Pugs are quite smart, so even though it may slow down the gulping, I don't believe it is a cure to the gulping.   I am not promoting any certain dish, but I gave you the link to the last one, because it was quite interesting.
Mom has also read amongst the big wide world of forums, discussion boards, and blogs....that *sometimes* plastic feeding bowls can give *some* pugs acne.   She wanted me to add that as FYI kind of thing.  *snort*

One more piece she found was this:
Omega Paw Portion Pacer Ball

As with all the bowls and even this stainless steel ball, one thing to always remember...us pugs are super intelligent.  Not only will some of us learn how to tip said bowl, we will also master how to infiltrate the interactive one in no time at all.
There are *supposedly* some feed bowls that are weighted down, so not to be tipped as easily, but until I have it before my big brown puggy eyes, it's definitely a myth.

*pondering.....pondering....pondering*

Now that I've had a few minutes to think about it..............that pacer ball is kind of dumb too.  Pugs should have wide set bowls to eat and drink from so not to injure our beautiful eyes....so I wonder what sorta human thought this ball would help?  I mean, Pugs, c'mon....we just push it off to the side, am I right Puggies?!?!?

Such human silliness.

  1. My mom got me the food bowl like #5 in your first picture, but those "spikes" in the bowls aren't very pug friendly...as you said, our eyes are delicate and when you have to eat with your entire face down, accidents can happen and my mom wasn't going to take a chance on my big brown eyes!

PS. My mom is an Amazon nut!

  2. what a totally excellent point you make Payton!!! Since us pugs have such squishy smooshed in faces, the spikes in those bowl probably aren't the best thing for us to eat from.
Oh no, an Amazon nut huh? Does that mean you get awesome gifts all the time?!?!
